The ASTA P223 series safety valve is a full-lift spring-loaded angular relief valve.
It is used mainly for compressible media (vapors, gases), as well as superheated liquids. The outlet pipe is two standard sizes larger than the inlet, which allows for a high throughput, taking into account the expansion of compressible media and the boiling of liquids with a sharp drop in pressure.
The valve begins to open slightly at the actuation pressure, with a further increase in pressure, the valve abruptly breaks up to full stroke, which allows for a quick relief of the maximum possible flow rate of the medium.
